Elements Series 2
Kevin Gorman
This is the incendiary PART 2 of Kevin Gorman's ELEMENTS project. Taking influences from classic techno such as PLASTIKMAN and more current BERLIN output from SHED and OSTGUT, this release is a fiery mix of minimalist Techno and Dubstep. As part of the ELEMENTS project, all the sounds (or elements of these tracks) will be available, as well as a wealth of alternate versions and tools. This International Deejay Gigolo artist spent the last 12 months touring the world to promote his debut album 'Chemistry Lock'. This, his first major undertaking since then is heavily influenced by the clubs he has been playing at - Berghain, Fabric, Watergate and so on. The main feature of the release is ALARM. It comes in three versions. Firstly, the four to the floor original with a huge sweeping acidic riff and a deep bellowing siren, underpinnedby rolling 808 bass drum patterns. It's dark and it's big. Second are two alternate versions of ALARM, featuring more Dubstep style drum patterns. ALARM (STEPPER BEATS) is basic and heavy, with sirens to create mayhem. ALARM (STEPPER NO SIRENS) retains the heavy drums but is deeper and darker, losing the sirens, but adding the original's acidic riff. There's also ALARM (SIRENS TOOL), a DJ tool of the main siren, to be used sparingly. Lastly is INSOMNIA (BEATS), a stripped-back version of INSOMNIA from ELEMENTS (Part 1). This is peak-time rolling techno, taking away all the melodic elements to reveal its stark and percussive backbone, with liquid bass and crisp claps.
