LuckyMe endeavour to bring you everything that is good about 2012 Hip Hop condensed into 3 power packed dancefloor tools on a limited laser-etched 12” vinyl. We received the demos at an auspicious time – just hours before TNGHT took to stage at their first live show at SXSW in March. They played it, we signed it, rest was history. But things have got a bit nuts... NYC clubkiller Baauer aka Harry Rodrigues hasn’t been on the scene long – just 23 years old the last few months have cast him the poster child of this contemporary US fusion of dance and rap music. With a stellar selection of remixes and the elephantine anthem that is ‘Harlem Shake’ (Mad Decent/Jeffrees) under his belt – he has defined ‘Trap Music’ at it’s very best. Already clocking play across the globe c/o TNGHT, Rustie, Diplo, A-Trak, Skrillex, Benji B, Toddla T, Araab Muzik, Oneman, Jackmaster, Skream & Benga and Nick Grimshaw – the few Baauer songs have been primetime staples & a proper release has been hotly anticipated. Our lead, DUM DUM, lives up to the hype. The track thumps out of the PA with assured minimalism and a smirk. Damn does this guy know the genetic make-up of a banger: huge horn hook, lowslung bass and anthemic flygirl cries of “ok!” - this will flip any dancefloor on it’s head. A "Chief Rocka" for the Chief Keef generation Upping the energy again is the most extreme track LuckyMe has dared touch. But this is our white label series and we like to have fun with it. MY NOSE is a Hardstyle sampling freak out that takes it’s formulae from Aarab Muzik’s production on Dipset’s Salute - but leaving you somewhere all together wilder. Finally, SWERVE cries out for a reload. This is a thick, hard as hell, slow-motion ATL rap instrumental cast from Baauer’s signature sound fx and 808s. Like broken glass, spilt Ciroc and blacklights here is the soundtrack for the parties at DMX’s mansion in Belly. Is that too obscure a reference for a one sheet? We’ll leave it in. We’re hoping you’re along for th
