When her grandmother falls ill overseas from England, eleven-year-old Lucy Sanford, and her family board the RMS Titanic to sail to New York City. On the first evening aboard the Titanic, Lucy meets a French boy around her age named Shane Anderson. Lucy believes Shane is a good person to hang out with, but as she becomes very good friends with him, obstacles get in Lucy's path that makes her voyage stressful. With her friend's supportiveness, Lucy's able to defeat the minor obstacles, but when her friendship with Shane becomes complicated, Lucy realizes she may never find peace during her voyage. But she does not know what life-changing disaster waits for her and Shane on the night of April 14.
